The School of Medicine (SOM) located in Lubbock, Texas was established as the Texas Tech University School of Medicine in 1969 by the 61st Texas Legislature, and the SOM first graduated Doctors of Medicine in 1974.〔(TTUHSC :: School of Medicine : Admissions : FAQ ).
